Have you come here wondering, so, who is this person?

Well, my name is Lauren, and I am a University of Florida graduate currently living in Tampa, Florida with my significant other Todd, who unfortunately is a Florida State fan. Since childhood, I have always loved everything travel related – I remember being fascinated by the airport and wanting to go there just to walk around and watch planes arrive and depart. And whenever I actually got to go on a trip, even if it was just to somewhere nearby, it was always such an exhilarating and educational experience. That passion for travel has stayed with me, while another new passion has developed – tasting fine beer, wine, and spirits. While I obviously learned a lot about this in my college years, I have learned even more in my post-grad years, as I have spent a significant amount of time visiting craft breweries, wineries, and distilleries and learning about the production process and limitless variations. I even brew my own beer at home now!

After realizing that I am everyone I know’s go-to person for both travel planning and drink recommendations, I decided to start a blog in which I could share my knowledge and stories of drinking around the world. Todd and I frequently visit new places, and none of our trips are complete without surveying the local drinking establishments and concoctions! I am a vegetarian and usually tend to favor lighter and sweeter drinks (although there are many exceptions), whereas Todd is 100% carnivore and loves hoppy beer and red wine, so our tastes complement each other perfectly and we can give insight on a wide variety of food and drinks. I’m also a huge history buff, so I try to incorporate a little bit of history in my journeys as well.
